Summer Sensory Sessions for Ages 3-8Call to schedule a personal evaluation for your child to determine needs and goals for these fun summer sessions. These sessions are a nice change from school activities and are play-based sensory integrative therapy. A variety of multi-sensory techniques will build your child's confidence and will concentrate on his individual needs. Sessions will include sensory history and clinical observation for SI issues and fun, play-based sensory integrative therapy. Individual or group sessions will be offered depending on each child’s needs. We have dates available in June and July. Call to schedule your child's private evaluation at 205-823-1215. OUR STAFF Ahsha Watson, MOTR/L has been practicing pediatric occupational therapy for many years. She works extensively in school-based settings with children with special needs. She is also trained in the First Strokes multi-sensory approach working with children of all abilities. Laura Smith, COTA/L has been practicing occupational therapy for many years, specializing in pediatric occupational therapy for the past few years. Laura works exclusively in school-based settings. She is trained to apply the First Strokes method using multi-sensory activities to enhance writing readiness, fine motor skills, and handwriting skills for children of all abilities. Kathy Early, MOTR/L received her degree in occupational therapy and a Master’s degree in Allied Health Science from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She has completed certification in the Neurodevelopmental Treatment Approach to Cerebral Palsy and the SIPT Certification Tract. She also completed Auburn University’s Cross Disciplinary Early Intervention Training Program. As a practicing pediatric OT for 28 years, she has extensive background in early intervention, preschool, and school system services. She is a clinical instructor for OT programs in Alabama and Mississippi. Kathy’s special interest in pediatrics includes oral-motor/feeding, adaptive equipment, handwriting, and related assistive technology. She is frequently consulted about legal issues affecting school-based practice.
