Description:

The benefits of yoga reach across the lifespan.  The word “yoga” means “union” which in this case is a joining of the physical and mental elements within each of us. Yoga has been found to increase strength, flexibility and coordination.   It has been documented to improve concentration and relieve stress.  Yoga is suitable for children of all ages and physical abilities.

Call for more information regarding individual classes for your child. A parent interview and screening by the therapist will allow for individualized class times with specific goals and needs to be addressed.  A doctor’s referral/release is required before classes can be scheduled.

Yoga/Pilates for Scoliosis:

Adolescents with scoliosis can benefit tremendously from Yoga/Pilates exercises.  Yoga and Pilates improve strength and flexibility and self confidence.   This powerful combination can improve postural awareness and is especially beneficial in improving core muscle strength and improving flexibility of the spine, pelvis and rib cage which are all involved in the curvature of the spine.  This class will help strengthen the body symmetrically and help with balance and awareness of postural alignment in everyday movement and activity.
